Paul Kent is running a series of assessment sessions for members through February, March. £40 per session (can be shared) – 60 mins. to include 10% off on any resulting purchase/s. You can expect a thorough and accurate assessment of all areas of your golf game.
Suffolk Winter Alliance comment on their visit to Flempton on Thursday 18th: 48 Amateur players enjoyed the Flempton course that was in fine condition for the time of year. The greens required more than a casual look as there were many sneaky borrows to be found, they were none the less true if you had the correct line.

Alfie Halil shot scores of 69 and 73 to take the crown and become the youngest Suffolk Open Champion. Alfie beat 46 of the top golfers from around the county including 10 professionals. Link to Bury Free Press online article here. Alfie is coached by the club pro Paul Kent.
Hollow-tining will be undertaken on September 13th and 14th.
The extremely successful Charity Golf Challenge was held on 29th July in aid of Action Duchenne.
A card machine facility has now been introduced behind the bar for the convenience of members and visitors alike.
The club has a resident pro, Paul Kent . As well as providing a full teaching programme Paul has also opened a small pro shop with a good range of products and all the usual services. Those members who have already taken advantage of his teaching skills speak warmly of their quality and it is hoped that with the support of sufficient members Paul will make a success of this new venture and provide a service that most clubs take for granted but that we have never had at Flempton. A golf tuition page has now been added to the website.
To celebrate “Give Golf a Go” the Ladies Section will be running a series of coaching sessions through the month of August on Monday mornings and Friday lunchtime to encourage ladies to take up golf. Attire will be smart casual with trainers/golf shoes. Golf clubs will be available. The 2017 County Card has now been issued and is available from behind the bar for collection for anyone interested.
Fern McCarthy (12 yrs) has won the Bronze Coronation medal. Fern collected her awarded at the AGM of the SCLGA.The inaugural and highly successful Flempton “Grab An Adult” competition was held on the 30th.

Details of the informal inter-county scratch league involving Flempton, Gog Magog, John O’Gaunt and Peterborough Milton can be found in December’s Newsletter.The charity this year will be Tools With A Mission. TWAM collect unwanted tools, refurbish them, sort them into trade kits and send them across the world. The collection bin for tools is in the Flempton Golf Club car park by the bottle bank. Flempton’s version of the Ryder Cup was an enormous success with every single member of the red team playing brilliantly. Unfortunately, no bias here, they were pipped to the post so the blue team have to clean the winning trophy this year. Many thanks to both Lawrence and Paul, the club Pro’s, for organising such a successful event.
