One of the finest 9-hole golf courses in the country

Easy to Access

Flempton has a three-tee start system giving easy access on to the course from the 1st, 4th or 7th.

Perfect for Winter Golf

Temporary greens are rare due to our fast draining soil allowing for the opportunity to play all year round.

Excellent Evening Golf

Flempton’s cloverleaf design makes playing 3, 6, 9, or 12 holes after work very convenient.

Flempton Golf Club

A hidden gem in the Suffolk countryside, Flempton Golf Club is a nine-hole members club nestled next to the Lackford Lake Nature Reserve with gently undulating fast-draining heathland boasting exceptional views from the start. The nine-hole Suffolk golf course is designed in three loops of three, giving easy access to the clubhouse from any of these loops. If bad weather intervenes or time is limited it is easy to play just 3, 6, 9 or 12 holes and get back inside for a relaxing drink.  This suits those who wish to visit for a few holes after work, those that work part-time, and those that wish to put in a few hours refining their golfing skills on a summer evening.

Close to the market town of Bury St Edmunds, the club has maintained its ethos and is regarded as one of the finest 9-hole golf courses in Suffolk and the entire country.

Our Course

This 9 hole heathland course reflects the neighbouring landscape, two distinct areas of SSSI which contain the gorse covered sandy heathlands of the Brecks and the wetland bird sanctuary at Lackford.

The course measuring 6174 yards from the white tees, is a par 70 for whites and yellows and 72 for the reds. The two par 3s, several water hazards and a dropped green on the 7th will demand the player maintains focus if they wish to score. Beware, the fast but undulating greens are deceptive.

Our Vision

Flempton Golf Club aims to provide a high-quality game of golf for members, guests and visitors to enjoy, develop, play and compete in a welcoming environment whilst ensuring that the Club’s traditions and standards are upheld and respected.

The course, with the help of a design by J. H. Taylor, is a fine example of a free-running heathland course. Held in high regard across the county it is the club’s primary asset and will continue to be the club’s main priority. With an increasing awareness of forecasted weather patterns Flempton Golf Club hopes to develop a well-maintained golf course that appears to be ‘cut into’ the natural landscape.

Our History
